This “Behind the Scenes” reportage, shot on location during the making of Ian Woodward’s award-winning documentary FROM BOHEMIA’S WOODS AND FIELDS, was filmed and edited by the filmmaker’s daughter, Stefanie. The documentary itself uncovers the amazing story of Czech composer Bedřich Smetana (Dalibor, The Bartered Bride, Má Vlast) who wrote some of his most beautiful music following deafness in the last decade of his life. He died in a Prague mental asylum and was given a State funeral.
