ADORATION STAR KIM MAY
PUTS PEN TO MUSIC PAPER
AS ENCORE FILMS’ NEW
INSPIRATIONAL SONGWRITER
Principal photography was completed in mid-September on Ian Woodward’s new film Adoration: A Natural History, starring Kim May. The London-based Dutch rising star, soon to dazzle UK theatre audiences as Dorothy in a national tour of The Wizard of Oz – she’s currently fine-tuning an impressive Kansas accent – has many strings to her bow.
Although the actress and singer is best-known for starring roles as Kate/Lois Lane in Cole Porter’s classic musical Kiss Me Kate and as the fading Hollywood star Jessica Cranshaw in the Kander and Ebb musical Curtains, and for several acclaimed short films, she is also a gifted and prolific songwriter with many recordings to her name.
Encore Films is thrilled to announce that Kim May has written the theme song for Adoration: A Natural History. Called simply Adoration, and sung by Kim herself – of course! – it will appear over the film’s title credits and end credits.
She flies to Holland in mid-October to record Adoration at a major recording studio in her Rotterdam home town. The theme song will be produced and mixed by long-time collaborator and music associate Victor Summers.
