Encore Films were delighted to have I’LL WALK WITH GOD and I LOVE YOU TRULY selected for screening at America’s prestigious Anglicon’s Anglophile Film Festival at the end of 2017 where the films’ director Ian Woodward was invited as a guest at the star-studded event.

Held over three action-packed days in the Pacific Northwest city of Seattle, the event is a celebration of films from the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth Realms embracing Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, The Bahamas, Tuvalu and, of course, the United Kingdom.

The film festival is part of Anglicon, a British media convention attended by thousands of enthusiasts.

Besides the film festival, the members of Anglicon attend panel discussions – in which Encore’s Ian Woodward participated – on their favourite British films and TV shows.

There were also celebrity guests from British television shows to give talks on their works.

“I’ve never seen so many autograph books in one place in my life!” reflected a somewhat dazed Ian Woodward.

At the 2017 festival the celebrity guests included Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy, two popular former Doctors from BBC1’s long-running sci-fi series Doctor Who.

They were roundly cheered and applauded – and at times rather enthusiastically surrounded – by their ecstatic American fans.

  Anglicon’s Anglophile Film Festival is a never-to-be-forgotten event and, for Encore Films especially, it was a huge privilege to fly to Seattle and be given the opportunity to contribute to the proceedings.

A lot of fun was to be had by all at the three-day fixture in this beautiful seaport city on the west coast of the United States where Microsoft and Amazon are headquartered in its metropolitan area.

  The Encore Films team can still hear the laughter and the party poppers and the clink of glasses with the never-ending bubbly top-ups.
