Adoration: A Natural History, from which The Adoration of Nature Woman is extracted, is a wildlife docudrama by Ian Woodward, FZS. It is a portrait of the English countryside seen through the seasons, its fauna and flora and waterways, and through the eyes of Nature Woman.
It is accompanied by the filmmaker’s screenplay in verse. Nature Woman, played by London-based Dutch actress Kim May, is the physical embodiment of the film’s imagery and sentiments.
Kim has appeared in several short films, including Fallen Stars and The First Signs of Love, and played the part of Kate in the pilot for a television series called Charlie in the Wild. In the theatre she has starred as Kate/Lois Lane in Cole Porter’s classic musical Kiss Me Kate and as the fading Hollywood star Jessica Cranshaw in the Kander and Ebb musical Curtains.
At the end of 2014, after completing her film work on Adoration, the horseback-riding actress embarked on a three-month national tour of The Wizard of Oz, taking on the iconic role of Kansas farm-girl Dorothy made famous by Judy Garland in the 1939 Hollywood classic with the hit song Over the Rainbow.
